Happy World Password Day!

What better way to promote good security hygiene and password habits than with your friends at ABCO Security? Here are some helpful tips and tricks when improving your online security.

Strong Passwords

Strong Passwords could deter hackers away from accessing your accounts. A strong password usually contains at least 8-10 characters including a mix of uppercase and lowercase letters, symbols and numbers. When creating your password, try to avoid personal information such as pets, birthdays or family names.

Different Passwords

If you have more than one account, you know how easy it would be to have the same password for all accounts. Unfortunately, if someone managed to unlock one password, they would be able to access any your accounts and possibly get more information. To eliminate that issue, using a different password for each account is important especially when using online banking and financial accounts.

Multi-factor Authentication

Multi-factor authentication is a great way to add extra security to your online accounts. This system requires more than one method of authentication to verify the user's identity. The multi-factor authentication adds an additional layer of security on top of your standard password which secures your accounts even more! Check your account and security settings to check if multi-factor authentication is available and turned on.
